Tacoma Bible College is built on the philosophy that ministry training needs to take place in the context of the local church. Future leaders need to be trained in ministry, not just trained for ministry. The best training involves mentoring by pastors and lay leaders within the local church. The school can provide the important biblical and theological foundation, but theory and practice must be closely integrated.
TBC recognized that it can not accomplish this mission alone. Therefore, it has developed the Partner Church Program to partnerships with regional pastors and churches; a partnership where TBC and the local church work together to accomplish the mission of training Christian leaders for Christian service. All around us we see the impact of worldviews that take faith out of the equation and replace God with chance, “progress”, human reason, or relative ethics. That makes life—and business—a challenge to navigate. A biblical, God-focused, worldview brings a balance and clarity to life that reminds us of both our value and our dependent nature—we depend on God for all we have and can achieve. Employees, interns, and apprentices established in a biblical worldview add value to business as trustworthy, humble, other-focused, workers. At TBC, we work to establish all of our students in just such a worldview.
