Mission Statement

The mission of TBC is to prepare students for effective lives of service to Jesus Christ and others through academic undergraduate study based on  a biblical world view and practical Christian ministry experience. 

Purpose Statement

The purpose of Tacoma Bible College is to provide interested students from around the world the opportunity to receive undergraduate theological education and practical Christian ministry with a primary focus on biblical and Christian doctrinal study to enable them to achieve undergraduate degrees while growing in their personal walk and calling in the Lord Jesus Christ. 

Tacoma Bible College values . . .

  • theological education that is grounded in sound biblical interpretation (2 Tim. 2:15).
  • the witness of Christ among all people (Acts 1:8).
  • the declaration of the infallible Word of God among all people (2 Tim. 3:16-17; Col. 1:28).
  • instruction that combines theory and practice with relevant ministry needs (Eph. 4:11-13).
  • an environment that promotes spiritual growth and transformation (Eph. 3:16-19).
  • personal integrity in our students, faculty, staff, and business practices (1 Thess. 1:10-12).
  • accessible theological education (Matt. 28:19-20).
  • our relationship with God and His church as providers of our spiritual strength and resources as we endeavor to bring glory to Him (Eph. 3:20-21).
  • on-going institutional quality and improvement (Col. 3:23-24).
  • a community of faith and learning that embraces mean and women who are diverse in ethnic, economic, social, and national backgrounds (Gal. 3:27-28).
Accreditation
Tacoma Bible College is a member of the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS) [15935 Forest Road, Forest, VA 24551; Telephone: 434.525.9539; e-mail: info@tracs.org] having been awarded Candidate status as a Category II institution by TRACS’ Accreditation Commission on November 6, 2012; this status is effective for a period of five years. TRACS is recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE), the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE).    

Authorization
Tacoma Bible College is authorized by the Washington Student Achievement Council and meets the requirements and minimum education standards for degree-granting institutions under the Degree-Granting Institutions Act.  This authorization is subject to periodic review and authorizes Tacoma Bible College to offer specific degree programs.  The Council may be contacted for a list of currently authorized programs.  Authorization by the Council does not carry with it an endorsement by the Council of the institution or its programs.  Any person desiring information about the requirements of the act or the applicability of those requirements to the institution may contact the Council at P.O.
