Bachelor of Biblical Studies Degree Program (B.B.S.)
Students successfully completing a prescribed course of study (120 credits), and who fulfill all of the graduation requirements, may apply to graduate with commendation of the Chancellor, President, Dean of Academics, Dean of Students, Administration and faculty of Tacoma Bible College with an Bachelor Degree in Biblical Studies.
The Bachelor of Biblical Studies Degree Curriculum is a comprehensive study of the Bible that prepares a student for Bible scholarship and effective communication of the Word of God. The curriculum is designed to provide the necessary academic experience required for students that desire to pursue a carrier as a pastor, or who desire to continue their academic studies in graduate school. The combination of academic classroom work and practical experience gained while serving in a Christian ministry provides the student with a balanced opportunity for personal growth and life application.
Objectives:
Upon successful completion of the Associate Degree program, students should be able to:
- Demonstrate a foundational knowledge of the Bible by learning the chronology of the Word of God, the contents of each book, interpretation and application skills, and a solid foundation of the cardinal doctrines of the Christian faith.
- Convey an experiential knowledge of the Bible by appropriating and integrating truth in relationships through outreach, church life, and other aspects of work and society.
- Express the reality of their personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ as well as provide an adequate defense for the faith and convictions.
- Convey growth in love for God and His Word while manifesting convictions in and commitment to the inspired, inerrant, authoritative Word of God.
- Manifest a desire to study God's Word for personal application and ministry.
- Communicate the content, teaching, and intent of Biblical truth and effectively defend it.
- Identify and effectively address trends in theology and deviations from sound Biblical truth.
- Possess a foundation for further scholarly pursuits in Biblical studies.
- Communicate the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ by both written and oral methods.
- Exhibit a consistent lifestyle of Christian worship, discipline, and service through ministry.
- Utilize their knowledge and practical experience gained through their Christian Ministry service to support the work of Christ in any local Christian church throughout the world.
