More Info: | About Tacoma Bible CollegeTacoma Bible College is an evangelical Christian College located in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and offers Associate and Bachelor Degrees.
Living Grace Church began offering college level Bible courses in 1983. Over the years the program grew to the point that it had over 50 students and was offering more than twenty courses. Living Grace Ministry Board of Elders in 1998 decided that the region needed a fulltime Bible College and voted to have the college become an independent educational College. Its motives for beginning the college were to provide interested students the opportunity to receive undergraduate training towards bachelor degrees with a primary focus on biblical and Christian doctrinal study. Secondly, the goal was to provide students with the practical, doctrinal and spiritual resources needed to enable them to develop in their calling in life and to promote their unique place in the Body of Christ. Tacoma Bible College has been in continuous operation since 2001 when the college gained approval from the Washington Higher Education Coordinating Board (WHECB) to offer Associate and Bachelor Degrees in Biblical Studies, Christian Education, and Missions. In 2008 Tacoma Bible College visited TBC and reviewed the college’s staff, curriculum, standards and faculty. As a result of their review, Tacoma Bible College invited TBC to develop a joint Bachelor of Arts – Religion Degree curriculum that allows students to receive an accredited degree from Tacoma Bible College while completing 75% of their courses at TBC. TBC has consistently operated with a goal of offering quality education at the lowest possible cost. With a minimum number of staff and excellent volunteer faculty TBC has been able to achieve this goal. TBC has been able to operate in the black each year while meeting all of its financial obligations, but has not been able to develop any financial reserves. One of the unique features of TBC is its emphasis on the Great Commission, and particularly International missions. TBC has also supported missions. For the past ten years TBC has sponsored annual mission trips to affiliated missionaries around the world. Although a relatively small Bible college, TBC’s commitment to missions resulted in its strategy of using the resources available to train, equip and “plant” international missionaries through its International Student Scholarship Program. Such a strategy required that TBC obtain US Governmental approval to accept international students. After this was achieved TBC committed to sponsoring up to 2 international students each year. Over the past 5-6 years graduates of this program have gone home to serve as pastors, church planters, evangelists, Bible college educators, and administrators. Since beginning operations, TBC has successfully graduated nine classes. No TBC graduate has ever been denied admission to graduate school at the nations accredited Christian Universities and Seminaries. Many TBC graduates have completed graduate studies, while others have used their education and training in international missions, church planting, Christian education, fulltime ministry, and for successful secular careers. Former students have gone on to graduate school, to medical school, and into the work place. They are teachers, pastors, missionaries, and administrators. They have taken the foundation of biblical truth and experience with them, thus fulfilling the Great Commission by bringing the love of God and the hope He offers to all mankind. |
